In this Sacred Drum Making Ceremony, Lisa Bennett with @lisa.livelifereikistudio bring you present with Sacred Ceremony, Reiki, Meditation, and Fire Circle. Connecting your human nature with your animal medicine of choice. 

Each animal from which drums are made holds its own medicine. With a unique voice and vibration. Picking your hide will be a personal choice as you feel guided or inspired by the connection you are seeking. We encourage you to turn inward to feel what animal your intuition is calling to. 

This Day includes nourishing refreshments, Reiki Imbuing, Animal Medicine, Fire Circle, Drum Ring, Drumstick, Crystals, Feathers, Leather for handle, hands on support, and care instructions.

The thickness of the hide and the size of the drum are the two biggest factors: 

The thicker the hide and the bigger the drum, the deeper the tone (generally). Elk, cow, and buffalo tend to be thicker hides and will produce lower sounds. 

Horse is a thinner hide which will typically produce higher sounds. However, this is not always the case thin hides may produce low sounds and vice versa. See comments below for exchange and additional highlights.

All hides are ethically sourced. The wild animals have been harvested by hunters or farmers who honor the use of the entire animal. A domestic animal has died of natural causes, and the buffalo has a slightly higher exchange to be acquired by the Lakota tribe in Montana. We honor these animals and are respectful of their spirit and their medicine.
